Fashion Style For Summer

Maybe because July is when I feel like we can finally take a breather from the chaos of June!I feel like summer has just begun. Undoubtfully, there’s plenty of time left for summer parties and entertaining, so it's time to share some of my favorite fashion looks for the guest or hostess.

Classic Comfort
Next up is my idea of the perfect styling for a pair of cut-off jean shorts. If you’ve got great legs at any age, you can find {or make your own} a length to fit any body type. Whether you’re off to a backyard bbq, weekend brunch, or a day at the park, you can dress these classic shorts up or down. Shop sources here.

  • Choose a loose fitting off-the-shoulder top for those occasions where you want to go a little more chic and dressy. Classic espadrilles or a flat sandal will look great on your feet.
  • When you want to get a little funky, throw on a crocheted vest over a plain white or graphic tee. That same flat sandal or a gladiator sandal look right in place here.
  • Finally, if you want to feel pulled together but not like you’re trying too hard, throw on a sleeveless flowy top and metallic sneakers. Bonus: put on those espadrilles instead and head out for a casual dinner on the docks!

Casual Chic
As a hostess I feel like I should always be a bit more dressed up, and my go-to look is usually a comfortable but stylish maxi dress. However, this loose cotton shirt dress could make me change my tune. Shop sources here.

  • The pin-strip fabric, the bare shoulder, and the double split in front, all make this dress the perfect choice. It’s not too dressy or too casual, and adding a punch of color with brightly colored wedges makes my heart sing!
  • If you’re heading out for lunch, make it totally chic with some light accessories and a delicate multi-chain necklace.
